New Design Coming Soon

It’s been more than 100 days since my last post.

It’s a tragedy to note that the last of my profitable aff campaigns have gone up in smoke over the last few weeks and that my next aff pay check is less than 4 figures.

Such is what happens when you manage a day job, an agency, and an affiliate marketing business – as a one man show – the one leg which involves the least accountability (guess which?) would have to fall.

Fortunately, not all is lost.

The agency side of the business has been growing consistently, and I’ll be making another attempt at hiring an accounts executive in the next couple weeks. Hopefully things work out this time round.

At the day job, I’ve also been putting systems in place to make my personal intervention minimal. I have alot of freedom in deciding how things are done, which is a very good thing indeed.

Finally, I made one last attempt at getting a designer for EpicSkillz.com in December. And yes, it failed again. I thought hiring an American instead of my usual Filipinos and Indians would make a difference, but unfortunately the guy disappeared without a trace again and I thought I’d just save the hassle and really do it myself this time.

I’ve read a couple books from Smashing Magazine and brushed up a little on CSS, so I guess I can at least make the blog look presentable, and then I’ll just forget about the design and dive head in building campaigns and getting back to writing consistently!

As of this writing, this is how the blog looks.

R.I.P, old look.

I’m going to continue the site re-design by arming myself with this ghetto piece of sophistication.

Let’s see what damage I can do.

I Give Up…

I give up….

Ahahah gotcha!

No I’m not giving up on teh internet monies yo, sorry to disappoint.

I’m just giving up on finding a full-time virtual assistant, for the time being at least.

Man, it just wasted so much of my time; hours upon hours of training and orientation and then they just disappear and I’m back at square one.

Take epicskillz.com for example.

3 guys have tried their hands on it now and all of them have left me hanging in mid-air and not one even completed the re-design.

I’m just so annoyed that I’ve decided to handle everything myself for now.

I just made a whole bunch of creatives for my new campaigns etc and it wasn’t that bad, guess I just need to get used to it.

As for epicskillz.com, I’m waaaaay under-achieving here, and I really need to bang out my final design once and for all, get something that doesn’t get shitted on by other affiliates, something that I would be proud to show the better half.

This CSS and formatting stuff is getting on my nerves though, I just need to tide it over once and for all.

Once we’re all set I intend to keep the design for a long long time while I keep producing excellent content for you guys who drop by occasionally.

Thanks for listening, kthxbye!

30 Day Challenge etc

I have some good news and some bad news for myself.

The bad news was that the VA I talked about in one of my previous posts has disappeared (again).

What’s with filipinos doing disappearing tricks??

Anyway, that explains my lack of activities for the past week.

The good news is I’ve managed to find another VA, and she does look better than the previous one, so this might be a blessing in disguise.

In other news, I’m taking up the 30 Day Challenge “organized” by one of my favorite forums EVER.

The objective of this Challenge is to make me accountable to myself in building AT LEAST one new campaign per day so that I end up with at least 30 campaigns at the end of it all.

This should really help bring me to the next level!

Thing is there are some days (1st and 2nd Oct, 16th-20th Oct) in the next 30 days where I won’t be able to make campaigns as I’ll be overseas on holidays.

I’m going to make these up subsequently, so no biggie.
